Benefits of ConvaTec Gelling Foam Dressing

  • Aquacel Adhesive Foam Dressing has skin-friendly adhesive which supports simple application and removal
  • Water proof or bacteria barrier provides evaporation of excess moisture barrier against viral or bacterial penetration and allows patient to shower and bathe
  • Aquacel interface locks in wound exudate, including harmful components
  • Vertical wicking prevents lateral spread of fluid, reducing risk of maceration
  • Micro-contours to the wound bed, minimizing dead space where bacteria can grow
  • Gentle silicone border is designed to adhere to surrounding skin, not to the wound bed
  • Demonstrated low potential for dermal irritation or allergic contact sensitization

What to buy with Aquacel foam Dressing?

When to use ConvaTec Aquacel Gelling Dressing?

  • Use as a primary dressing on shallow wounds
  • Use as a secondary dressing on highly exuding wounds
  • Use for a skin protection as part of a comprehensive protocol of care
  • Suitable for a wide range of acute and chronic wounds producing exudate, regardless of the tissue within the wound bed
  • Can be applied to wounds producing lower volumes of exudate, such as skin tears, minor lacerations and cuts and left in situ for a maximum wear time of seven days
  • Can also be used on a wide range of acute and chronic wounds that produce moderate to high volumes of exudate, including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, burns, traumatic injuries such as pretibial lacerations, surgical wounds healing by secondary intention, donor sites and for exudate management in fungating tumours
  • May be used immediately post-injury/wound breakdown and continued until healing, however once a wound ceases to produce any exudate it will no longer be appropriate and an alternative dressing, such as a thin hydrocolloid, may be used

Hydrofiber Technology

  • Hydrofiber Technology is a soft, absorbent material that transforms into a gel on contact with wound fluid
  • The gelling action creates an optimal environment for wound healing

Locks Exudate & Traps Bacteria

How Hydrofiber Technology Works?

Helps protect peri-wound skin and reduce maceration. May help to minimize wound and cross-infection during removal

Micro-Contours to Wound Bed

How Hydrofiber Technology Works?

Minimizes “dead space” where bacteria can grow. Maintains moisture balance in the wound bed

Responds to wound fluid levels

How Hydrofiber Technology Works?

Forms a cohesive gel when in contact with exudates. Provides rapid and sustained antimicrobial activity on demand (dressings with ionic silver)
