Why choose Sage PrimaFit External Urine Management System?

  • PrimaFit for females is designed to help manage urinary incontinence
  • Sure-Stay Silicone Adhesive Pad keeps the device in place

  • Primafit External Catheter has a tapered end cap that gently fits in the perineal area to secure the device in position

What to buy with PrimaFit External Female Urinary Catheter?

How does PrimaFit Female Condom Catheter Work?

When properly positioned, PrimaFit’s ultrasoft wicking fabric absorbs and diverts urine away from the patient’s skin. Urine is then absorbed into the system’s core and suctioned into a collection canister, helping keep the skin dry.

How to use PrimaFit External Urine Management System?

Preparations before using PrimaFit External Catheter

  • Perform a skin assessment and document per hospital protocol
  • Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for suction setup

Placement of PrimaFit Female Catheter

  1. Set up a suction canister with tubing per hospital protocol
  2. Place the patient in the supine position and separate the patient’s legs
  3. Clean the patient’s genital area from front to back per hospital protocol and assess skin integrity
  4. Remove the device from the package
  5. Attach suction tubing. Ensure connection to the device is secure
  6. Position the device vertically with the tapered end cap facing downward and the white fabric facing the patient’s labia
  7. Align the tapered end cap with the perineum and place the device between the labia and against the urethral opening. Ensure the absorbent fabric is covering the urethral meatus
  8. Curve the device toward the patient’s lower abdomen
  9. While holding the device in place, remove the adhesive liner and smoothly adhere the adhesive pad over the suprapubic region
  10. Ensure suction tubing does not run under the patient

  12. Return patient’s legs to naturally closed position
